Polgwidden Cove

At Trebah Garden, Mawnan Smith (approx. 0.5 miles away). Make sure you take your swimming costume when visiting the garden on a summers day. Shingle beach with clear waters at the bottom of the garden. Ice creams and drinks are on sale at the beach kiosk.

Helford Passage Beach

(approx. 0.5 miles away)

A small sandy/shingle beach at low tide only. Amenities include the Ferry Boat Inn, toilets in the pub, ice cream kiosk, passenger ferry service to Helford Village, boat hire and fishing trips.

Maenporth Beach

Near Falmouth (approx. 2.5 miles away)

A sandy beach with fee-paying parking on the beach. Beautiful scenery and shallow waters, rockpools to explore at low water, facilities include beach shop and a café. Activities include surfing, snorkelling, kayaking, paddle boarding. Wetsuits and windbreaks are available for hire.

Swanpool Beach

Near Falmouth (approx. 3.5 miles away)

This small cove is within easy reach of Falmouth and is reasonably safe for swimming. There is a coastal footpath leading to Gyllyngvase beach. Facilities include a feepaying car park close to the beach, toilets, café, crazy golf, bouncy castle and a variety of water sports from Elemental during summer months.

Falmouth (approx. 5 miles away)

A small but wide sandy beach with rockpools, popular with visiting families. Activities include paddle boarding, windsurfing and canoeing. Beach facilities include toilets, café/shop and lifeguard cover during summer months.

Godrevy

'Godrevy is a cracking spot for a sandy beach day. It's not far off the A30 and has a National Trust car park (with a lovely cafe, of course!) Park up and head right and you can walk to see the resident seal colony and a closer view of the lighthouse, the inspiration for Virginia Woolf's novel 'To The Lighthouse'.

Carbis Bay

'This is in a stunning cove. It's very sheltered, making it a great spot for seal spotting and paddleboarding. There are great restaurants close by, it's dog friendly and it's at the start of the coast path so you can easily walk to St Ives.'
